NEW CLIENTS PLEASE READ:
A 24 HOUR NOTICE IS REQUESTED TO RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT. If you cancel closer than that to the time/day of your appointment, there is a $25 cancelation fee.
I cannot make up the lost time when an appointment is missed. Therefore, I request a check for $25 be mailed prior to your appointment to hold your time and also as my security deposit for your session. Your check will be held in file and not cashed unless you cancel. It can be mailed to the Thiensville Health Alliance, 136 N Main St, Ste 307, Mequon-53092 ATTN Margie Jankowski, LLC. Thank you.
You can send another person in your place, FYI! (Please let me know ahead of time, though.) If you arrive late, your session may be reduced by that amount of time and the full amount of the fee will be collected. You need to stay home and rest if you have a fever, flu or flu-like symptoms. A headache or mild cold may benefit from massage work and I have special "tools" in my toolbox to help.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It is also referred to as Relaxation Massage. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience. Margie is trained thru the Upledger Institute. If you would like more information on this session, see the Upledger website or call me. Since this work is rarely a "one and done", I recommend setting up a series of appointments if you are dealing with a chronic issue. Begin with once a week for 2-3 sessions then we will re-evaluate from there.
Neck and Shoulders
Many of us hold the world up on our shoulders and are feeling the tension daily! Come in for this site-specific and therapeutic treatment more regularly, as this session is only 30-45 minutes in duration. There are many ways to approach this type of chronic tension issue and I have many tools in my toolbox. The recommendation is to schedule your appointments for once or twice a week in the beginning and lets see how you progress.
Rooted in Traditional Chinese medicine, cupping is an ancient practice to increase lymphatic drainage and boost the immune system using a negative pressure vs positive as in regular manual massage. This treatment is very gentle and relaxing and is used for MANY health issues. It improves the circulation to remove any stagnation in tight fascia, which is causing muscle tension/pain. This work is beneficial to many chronic pain issues! Cellulite is diminished. When used on the face, it helps to regenerate the collagen, thus "plumping" the skin and lessening fine lines and wrinkles when done regularly. The list goes on! When used with magnets, it is extra effective for healing!! I hope you would be open to try this modality, as it is very gentle and beneficial to your body. The markings or discolorations that MAY occur is not abnormal; blood vessels are not harmed during a treatment. The markings are from fluids (plasma) in your tissues releasing toxins, which the lymph system will take care of. It is normal and most people will experience some degree of discoloration that dissipates in a short amount of time-any where from a day or 2 to a week. My attitude is to work on the conservative side of treatment to lessen any after effects.
Myofascial massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane.
Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
A headache can occur for various reasons and I can help alleviate it using stones, cupping, craniosacral techniques, aromatherapy, to name a few. Plus, I can give you nutritional recommendations, as this common condition is normally your body's way of signalling a deficiency. You may be over-stressed and this session may be just what your "inner-physician" ordered!
Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.
Faces are very telling! Let me give you a very relaxing and nourishing treatment you won't soon forget! Using gentle dynamic cupping, a traditional Chinese medicine therapy, this treatment can boost collagen in the skin and soften lines. I use organic ingredients to nourish and feed your skin in my warm and cozy massage studio. A real pampering for yourself or someone you know would appreciate the TLC. If you just need some fine lines to disapear for a special occasion, I can set up a weekly session for you to see real results! Call for details. (3 PKG SESSION $275 if prepaid)
Energy Infusion Therapy
As practiced thru the teaching of Healing in America, this (touch or no touch) holistic therapy and non-invasive approach uses relaxing techniques that help manage pain and lower stress so as to encourage the body's ability to self-heal. You will be laying fully clothed on a table that is warmed. Soft music may play in the back round. Relaxing will come naturally! Water will be supplied for sipping after the session is complete.
I consider myself both a healing practitioner and holistic guidance counselor leading others to own and realize their connection between body, mind and spirit. This healing helps to re-balance your energy, thus kick starting the healing process. Being a process, it is advised to come in for at least 3 sessions about 2 weeks apart or sooner. The body's self-healing process is not often a quick fix. And also remember it is a healing, and not a cure.
You can choose the session with the healing or choose to include guided meditation with longer session.
Essential oils add many benefits to your massage. Their healing, medicinal and therapeutic properties make them a perfect addition to your entire experience! Lavendar is perfect for relaxation, peppermint for headaches and other inflammatory issues, eucalyptus for relieving sinus pressure-just a few examples. I also retail these if you would need to take them for home use. The brand I carry is Wyndmere.
Orthopedic /Therapeutic Massage
Orthopedic massage is a style of massage therapy focused on treating painful conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. Because orthopedic massage is designed to treat medical conditions, it requires extensive training. It involves releasing tense muscles, helping to stretch and lengthen tight muscles and tendons, and decompress rigid joints. My goal is to restore full health to the soft tissues of your body, both treating your specific conditions as well as improving your overall well-being, and PAIN FREE PAIN MANAGEMENT. I can use hot stones and dynamic cupping as needed.
The initial visit will include a FREE 1/2 hour assessment. I offer a 3 session package rate of 3 sessions for 90 minutes each at $340.(SAVE $50)
Therapeutic Massage x3 Package
I offer a discount (SAVE $50) for pre-paying for a 3 session package of 90 minute therapeutic massage. When you are experiencing a chronic or acute site specific issue or injury, it is suggested to have a treatment plan in place for the most benefit to your healing process. Call for more information.
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
