NEW CLIENTS PLEASE READ:
NO SHOW FEE: $40
A 24 HOUR NOTICE IS REQUESTED TO RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT. If you cancel closer than that to the time/day of your appointment, there is a $40 cancelation fee.
I cannot make up the lost time when an appointment is missed. Therefore, I request a check for $40 be mailed prior to your appointment to hold your time and also as my security deposit for your session. Your check will be held in file and not cashed unless you cancel. It can be mailed to the Thiensville Health Alliance, 136 N Main St, Ste 307, Mequon-53092 ATTN Margie Jankowski, LLC. Thank you.
You can send another person in your place, FYI! (Please let me know ahead of time, though.) If you arrive late, your session may be reduced by that amount of time and the full amount of the fee will be collected. You need to stay home and rest if you have a fever, flu or flu-like symptoms. A headache or mild cold may benefit from massage work and I have special "tools" in my toolbox to help.
Relaxation Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It is also referred to as Swedish Massage. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience. Margie is trained thru the Upledger Institute. If you would like more information on this session, see the Upledger website or call me. Since this work is rarely a "one and done", I recommend setting up a series of appointments if you are dealing with a chronic issue. Begin with once a week for 2-3 sessions then we will re-evaluate from there.
Neck and Shoulders
Many of us hold the world up on our shoulders and are feeling the tension daily! Come in for this site-specific and therapeutic treatment more regularly, as this session is only 30-45 minutes in duration. There are many ways to approach this type of chronic tension issue and I have many tools in my toolbox. The recommendation is to schedule your appointments for once or twice a week in the beginning and lets see how you progress.
Rooted in Traditional Chinese medicine, cupping is an ancient practice to increase lymphatic drainage and boost the immune system using a negative pressure vs positive as in regular manual massage. This treatment is very gentle and relaxing and is used for MANY health issues. It improves the circulation to remove any stagnation in tight fascia, which is causing muscle tension/pain. This work is beneficial to many chronic pain issues! Cellulite is diminished. When used on the face, it helps to regenerate the collagen, thus "plumping" the skin and lessening fine lines and wrinkles when done regularly. The list goes on! When used with magnets, it is extra effective for healing!! I hope you would be open to try this modality, as it is very gentle and beneficial to your body. The markings or discolorations that MAY occur is not abnormal; blood vessels are not harmed during a treatment. The markings are from fluids (plasma) in your tissues releasing toxins, which the lymph system will take care of. It is normal and most people will experience some degree of discoloration that dissipates in a short amount of time-any where from a day or 2 to a week. My attitude is to work on the conservative side of treatment to lessen any after effects.
Myofascial massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane.
Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
A headache can occur for various reasons and I can help alleviate it using stones, cupping, craniosacral techniques, aromatherapy, to name a few. Plus, I can give you nutritional recommendations, as this common condition is normally your body's way of signalling a deficiency. You may be over-stressed and this session may be just what your "inner-physician" ordered!
Energy Infusion Therapy
As practiced thru the teaching of Healing in America, this (touch or no touch) holistic therapy and non-invasive approach uses relaxing techniques that help manage pain and lower stress so as to encourage the body's ability to self-heal. You will be laying fully clothed on a table that is warmed. Soft music may play in the back round. Relaxing will come naturally! Water will be supplied for sipping after the session is complete.
I consider myself both a healing practitioner and holistic guidance counselor leading others to own and realize their connection between body, mind and spirit. This healing helps to re-balance your energy, thus kick starting the healing process. Being a process, it is advised to come in for at least 3 sessions about 2 weeks apart or sooner. The body's self-healing process is not often a quick fix. And also remember it is a healing, and not a cure.
You can choose the session with the healing or choose to include guided meditation with longer session.
Bodywork Program Package
Together we design and devise a treatment program to put you back on track with your health in a timely manner. Bodywork is never a "one and done." Consistency is the key to progress. I advise you to schedule each session at either 2x/week or 1x/week to benefit sooner. I offer a variety of modalities to design the best options for you. When you purchase this program, there is a free 60 minute session you may use in a couple different ways. I advise to have a 60 minute full body relaxation massage as a tool for assessing the body as a whole, at the beginning of your program. You can also use it in even increments to add to the sessions you schedule in advance. Some bodywork sessions should not go over the 60 minute time frame, say for instance, energy work or Craniosacral therapy. This is something we can discuss at your initial visit. (75 minutes: includes free assessment time.)
PLEASE NOTE ALL GIFT CERTIFICATES HAVE A ONE YEAR "GOES WITHOUT SAYING" EXPIRATION DATE.
SMALL STEPS MAKE BIG CHANGES
We discuss in detail how you are managing your diet and digestion, long term and short term changes, and other issues of your concern. I will educate you about pH levels of urine and saliva, enzymes, probiotics, supplements, mindfullness practice, movement and exercise, to give you a better understanding of their purpose and how they can benefit your well-being naturally. My hope is to have you walk away with the sense of empowerment. You will be taking a big step forward in being accountable to your health and well-being.
